September 2020 - Playing with Macro

About the Image(s)

Tanks to the shelter at home time I got the chance to use that old Olympus 60 mm f/2.8 Macro lens collecting dust in a drawer. I went to Amazon web site and ordered that small inexpensive box with lights and started to spend time with flowers from our garden. Here's one little modest example. Camera Lumix G9 that features an automatic post focus feature. Lens Olympus as said. f/4. Shutter 1/25; ISO 2,500 Automatic. 2 LED lights and a ton of time to wast. Final touches with PS/LR CC.

Gabriele, I love your Iris. Your creativity worked out great. The purple iris with the same color background is perfect and all the brush strokes add the perfect creative touch. Well done. I would hang this one for sure.   Posted: 09/04/2020 21:03:20

I like the color palliate and the painterly effects. I think that increasing the contrast and a vignette could increase the impact.   Posted: 09/07/2020 11:17:15

Gabriele , I echo Marge comment. If I can add my input ( and i am not an expert) but I would try to rotate the flower a little bit to get it more in diagonal, it might increase the dynamic effect. Love this Lavender color.   Posted: 09/10/2020 11:11:53
