About the Image(s)

This was shot on the Serengeti in 2018. I used a Canon 6D Mk II paired with a Canon 100-400mm 1.4 “ 5.6L IS II. Shot at 1/250 sec., f/8.0 and ISO 250. Post processing include cropping, reduced shadows and increase saturation using Lightroom. Further processing included Topaz De Noise AI and the addition of a sky using Luminar 4. I personally believe if an image is a composite, that should be revealed although I am not adverse to adding an element that will make the image more interesting. The original sky was a dull grey. This was one of two Leopards withing half a mile of each other. These were also the only significant trees within many miles. “A Hard Night Hunting (3)” is the original.

I like the composition and the title. For me, this is a great capture. I feel like I am there with you. I think that you could tone down the greens a bit. I used a gradient with soft light to add some warmth and flipped it horizontally so the eye goes from the lower right up to the Leopard.   Posted: 08/02/2020 22:27:58

You're absolutely right about the greens. Thanks.   Posted: 08/03/2020 08:19:27
