June 2020 - The delicate Peonie

About the Image(s)

This flower is part of my favorite ones. We have few bushes in our garden , all in white . I always look forward to the Spring season to witness their beauty after the Cherry blossoms . They make me feel in Heaven and their parfume brings me back to my Childhood, in the garden of my grand mother .
This Spring, because of the #stay at home order, I have taken pictures almost 3 times a day , to enjoy different kind of light. I’ve also chosen to use a different lens: my Canon 70-200mm shooting handheld ( no Tripod)
Settings: MANUAL mode, ISO 800 F/ 5.6 1/640 sec @185mm, cropped in camera CANON 5D MARK III

I think that it is a lovely flower portrait ant that you have done a good job of capturing the whites. For me, removing some of the leaves would draw more attention to the bloom and I think that you could bring out some more detail and brighten the shadows as well.   Posted: 06/17/2020 21:18:30

Indeed, Regine you have a lovely image, as well as fully seasonal picture. I do to like flowers without much distraction around, as matter of fact sometime I create a solid color layer to cover unwanted elements. Actually I'm experimenting with one of tose light boxes, $55 all together and it is really fun to compose a little vase with a full colored background. Nice job.   Posted: 06/22/2020 12:28:44

Welcome to the group Regine. I love photographing flowers also. You made a nice photo with the soft red background and the bright green leaves in the foreground making the white Peonie really POP! I like the composition to the left of center. I think I like it square a tiny bit better. Well done.
