June 2020 - Sunset taken at Hampi in Karnataka

About the Image(s)

I am sorry that I had to go through a lot of household activities and I could not participate in our group activities. Since March, 2020, Lockdown was seriously implemented in our state. our outdoor sessions of photography have been stopped. Moreover, the media are depicting an image of horror about COVID-19.
Panic prevails, but we are finding our mental strength through aur creations. During the period of Lockdown I have launched a website parthasarathipatrika.com for a little magazine which I have been publishing since 1986. This e-magazine is based on Religion (in its finer sense) and Nationalism.
I am enclosing an image of Sunset taken at Hampi in Karnataka state.
Some details are: Camera= Canon EOS 600D. Aperture= f/9. Shutter= 1/1000. ISO=200
Post processing was done with CS 6.
Praying for the safety of you and all friends of the group.

Welcome back and I hope that all is well with you during this stressful and trying time. I think that this is a strong, well composed and evocative image that speaks to the present. I like the colors and the amazing moon. You could use transform to straighten the columns and increase the contrast a bit to give the lovely colors more pop. You might also try flipping it horizontally.   Posted: 06/08/2020 21:47:47

Thank you Sunandan for your prayers. I don't know anyone that can't use them right now. Thankfully my family and I are all well. I pray that this virus is over soon and we all stay safe.
I really like your sunset silhouette even before Art offered his ideas but Art's ideas are really good ones. This went from good to great.   Posted: 06/22/2020 13:01:51

I agree with Art except for the flipping, the image needs only minor adjustments to be a compelling image. Thank you for your thoughts and I hope that everything will be fine on your part of the country.   Posted: 06/22/2020 14:21:34

Just stopping by from DD78. I would echo Art's comments...a couple of tweaks on straightening the pillars, and you will have a very competitive image. I do like the flip, it keeps my eye from flowing right off the page following the receding pillars.   Posted: 06/24/2020 13:59:42
