Ballons over Cappadocia by Art Jacoby

November 2019 - Ballons over Cappadocia

About the Image(s)

Here is this month's photo. It is another from Turkey showing the interesting rock formations. When trying to land our balloon, the wind took up past our landing spot so we had an extra half hour ride while the landing crew chased us. It was a reas adventure. Taken with a Nikon D3, Nikon 80-400 mm 4.5-5.6 lens at 85mm, at f/6.3, 1/320, ISO 640 in RAW, Processed with Adobe CC, Nik Viveza and Colo Efex Pro. The title is Balloons over Cappadocia.

Great shot of this beautiful scenery - the coloreful balloons are looking like some surreal dots in it. The blue one seems to come out of the earth - great.
But.... the red one in the right front corner is really disturbing my eye like a blocker.
I am adding my version of your picture, how I imagine it.   Posted: 11/08/2019 22:46:29

Thanks for showing this shot. I would go a step further and take out the blue one as well--I find it disturbing that its passenger basket is not visible.   Posted: 11/09/2019 22:29:56

Sure like this image ! My only suggestion would be to remove the text from the bottom right balloon.....   Posted: 11/16/2019 10:21:59

Very nice Art. What a beautiful morning. That must have been a fun ride. I think keeping the red balloon on the right keeps balances all the other balloons. But I would remove the text like Mark is suggesting.   Posted: 11/23/2019 20:04:30

Art you did a good job given the light situation. I did some adjustments you might not like. And why you should do! The two balloons on the foreground, I think, are disturbing the all composition. See what I mean.
