Got it! by Marge Barham

August 2019 - Got it!

About the Image(s)

This photo was taken while in Maryland on Assateague Island. I found this Dowitcher roaming the beach feeding. The ocean was really calm and the tide was going out. It didn't take long before it found something. I think it might be a sand flea but not sure. I used my Canon 80D set at 400mm f8 1/1600 sec ISO 400.

You captured a bird eating something. Do I see the influence of Gerhard here? I like the composition and the soft colors as well. I toned down some of the brighter areas to draw attention to the subject.   Posted: 08/09/2019 13:58:00

A nice composition with triangular configuration of foams and the Rule of the Third for the principal object.   Posted: 08/10/2019 07:32:21

Thank you Gerhard! It seems to me like a nothing shot but I liked the summer colors and capturing the action. Thanks again for your tips.   Posted: 08/17/2019 19:57:06

Marge I like this shoot, I had chance to photograph Dowitcher a lot in Souther California and I like these birds. I also, adjusted a little the post process. I like bright color and often I over saturate my images, so do be mad with me. Nice Job.   Posted: 08/17/2019 22:53:43

It may be my monitor, but your picture works well in it's original colors for me. It shows the bright sun situation at the beach. The eating action is a big plus!   Posted: 08/30/2019 13:14:08
