Another Bicycle by Phyllis Holler

June 2018 - Another Bicycle

About the Image(s)

"ANOTHER "Bicycle" picture taken while on Copper Canyon trip in Mexico. I wasn't planning on doing a bicycle series, but after awhile I was actually looking for them.
This was taken with my Olympus OMD, mirrorless camera, in RAW. I took it into Topaz B & White after sharpening, and getting the contrast and detail the way I liked it.

I like your bicycle images. You capture slices of life that most of us miss. I think that the guy adds an element of interest to the image. I would crop it more tightly to focus on the bike and subject and bring out some more detail in the shadows. I also flipped it horizontally. I tend to do that.   Posted: 06/05/2018 22:31:52

A good unassuming image and very well presented in mono. I agree with Art that you should flip the image for a stronger composition.I will not crop it . I like your insight to capture this image.   Posted: 06/08/2018 01:01:40

I like this bicycle photo also. I like the composition and seeing the whole bike with the graffiti on the wall and the fence on the windows. It really tells an interesting story. Black and white is great. A great photo Phyllis.

Phyllis you bikes are getting better every month. Don't be afraid to catch more bicycles, for me is a very interesting subject. Art is right, flipping the image can help the composition, and the choice of monochrome was a smart one. Well done.

Thank you all for your helpful comments.
I agree that flipping it makes it better.
