April 2021 - Steaming Along

About the Image(s)

I found several of the hooded Merganser's at the pond at Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. They are transients that visit the Zoo seasonally. Taken with my Nikon D500 and Tamron 150 to 600 lens at 1/1600, f/6.3 and a focal length of 460 mm. Processed in Lightroom and sharpened with Topaz Sharpen AI.

Great capture Howard. The detail of the bird is stunning especially the eye. The ripples in the water provide a perfect compliment to the reflection in the water and image.   Posted: 04/18/2021 19:59:53

Wonderful capture of a handsome bird and his reflection. Does he always have that do, or is it mating plumage? Good detail even in the blacks and whites. The patterns in the water echo the detail of his wing feathers. Well done.   Posted: 04/18/2021 20:56:59
