Iced Berries by Peter Curcio

February 2021 - Iced Berries

About the Image(s)

This photo was captured February 2, 2021 at 8:30 am as I just finished my fourth round of shoveling. I live in Delaware and we were in day 2 of a winter storm. The photo was taken with a Nikon D7200, ISO 140, f/7.1, 1/30 s with a Sigma Macro 105mm lens. The lens is new to me and the snowstorm is the first in over two years.

This image is a very nice remembrance of Winter. Nice job handling the depth of field. I'm impressed by the detail sharpness of the ice on the berries. Were you handheld or on a tripod? If handheld, the vibration reduction of the lens is also quite impressive.   Posted: 02/22/2021 13:38:21

Nice contrast between the ice and red berries. The sharp part of the image is very good. It is always challenging to decide what depth of field you want with macro images. I would probably choose a higher f stop to increase the depth just a bit.   Posted: 02/22/2021 14:09:20

Very nice colors and details. The depth of field is also beautiful. The red color of berries covered with white snow is beautiful. The image is simple but it tells the story. Well done.   Posted: 02/23/2021 23:05:35
