About the Image(s)

I was taken by the contrasts of textures and the light/shadow, organic/inorganic, and turquoise/reddish browns. Sony 6300, 18-200 lens, ISO 400, f7.1, 1/200 sec. I cropped, eliminated keystoning with edit>transform>skew, and cut out one bright leaf. I liked the dynamism of the angles but felt the base was necessary to anchor the tree, tho it needed to be darkened so it wouldn't dominate the image.

You have a great shot all about light and shadow. Being in Monochrome Group 32, I always look for monochrome candidates. Here is your shot in monochrome.   Posted: 06/05/2020 17:16:51

Thanks, Stephen. Our club had color and monochrome competitions last night, so I tried B&W. But the color of the wall was what had initially called me to the site, so I preferred it that way and submitted it as a colored image. Tho the judge liked it, it didn't win, so will maybe enter it some time as a monochrome.   Posted: 06/05/2020 18:06:24

Great shot. The texture, light/shadow contrast and colors of the image are excellent. I think you may try to darken the base more so the bright color of the base won't distract the image.   Posted: 06/15/2020 16:20:08

Now this is place I'd like to visit! It's almost two images, the Red/Blue integrated with repeating light patterns. The simplicity and elegance of both images are beautifully complementary. Kudos Helen!   Posted: 06/18/2020 17:40:33

I really like this image a lot - it gives me so much to see and explore. It's also about colour contrasts and light/shadow contrasts. Although a bit "busy" from a composition point of view, it's not really relevant to me as my eyes are busy exploring.   Posted: 06/20/2020 09:41:02

Nice image. The color and the shadow lines blend beautifully. The white base provides further contrast and frames the image nicely.   Posted: 06/20/2020 19:13:13

Good lines and interesting shadows in this image. The colors blend will, but I agree with Stephen, that I like it better in monochrome. If you convert it, I would push a little more black as his image is all grey tones.   Posted: 06/22/2020 13:54:09
