About the Image(s)

This is an image of a bunch of dead roses. Taken with my Olympus E-M1, f11, ISO200, 60mm Macro Lens, .5seconds, tripod, window light. Post processing in Adobe RAW Conversion, Elements, NIK plugins.
Dead flowers are one of my favourite subjects - like the unique colouring, and shapes and textures.

This is a very powerful image to me, reminding me of elders whose skin has withered, but whose inner beauty still shines strongly. I particularly like the diffuse lighting and large depth of field which add to the sense of deeper meaning. I'm wondering how you got your background color.

Very well done!   Posted: 06/11/2020 15:49:45

Well done and makes one believe that even the dead flowers retain their beauty. Lighting and composition are excellent.   Posted: 06/16/2020 02:33:34

This is a beautiful image. The color contrast is very powerful and the background color compliments the image nicely. Nice choice of color all around.   Posted: 06/20/2020 19:08:58

I never thought of photographing dead flowers, and this is lovely. The detail you captured is excellent. Also, I wouldn't have thought to use the similar color for the background, which, with its gradient, effectively picks up so many shades of the roses. The blue vase was a good choice, and you show just enough to complement the roses while keeping them the focal point.   Posted: 06/22/2020 00:58:13
