Barcelona Cathedral by Peter Cheung

June 2018 - Barcelona Cathedral

About the Image(s)

This photo was taken inside Barcelona Cathedral when we visited Spain last summer. The Cathedral is gorgeous inside and outside. The lighting is challenging because the cathedral is dark inside and we are not allowed to use a tripod so I needed to greatly increase the iso. Camera settings: Nikon D810, Nikon 14-24mm, f/5.6 ISO-12000, 1/125 sec, 14mm. For post-processing I only reduced noises and rotate horizontally.

Beautiful image - especially well done as it's almost straight out of the camera - congrats. I love the colours and textures. It's reasonably sharp. The composition is perfect for this subject matter. A "keeper"!   Posted: 06/15/2018 07:35:10

Interesting angle Peter. Good steady capture, nice and sharp without a tripod.Good color and detail.   Posted: 06/18/2018 15:02:36

A very good capture in difficult light. The colours are subtle, the details fine, considering the ISO you had to use. I especially like the symmetry you achieved in your composition.   Posted: 06/19/2018 11:47:09

We've never gotten to Barcelona, so I don't know whether the cathedral has the soaring height and feeling your photo gives. Really beautiful! Also commending the sharpness, angle and success under the lighting conditions which the others have mentioned. How do you reduce noise. In PS?   Posted: 06/27/2018 16:45:11

My eye moves up with the pillars and moves around in the circle. Very impressive.   Posted: 06/27/2018 21:55:55
