January 2018 - Tonquin Valley, Jasper National Park

About the Image(s)

A few years ago I backpacked into this valley. I had skied in before, and stayed in a cabin. This was middle august. Early morning light, setting off for a day hike……..Nikon D5100, 16-85 lens at 16mm……..opened shadows slightly, small crop.

Another one for my wall!!! Love everything about this picture. In my opinion it is an especially strong composition - love the way it encourages the eye to travel around the scene - starting at the lower left foreground and going anti-clockwise. It is very sharp and the exposure is spot-on. "Mother Nature" would be very happy with your depiction of this beautiful scene.   Posted: 01/15/2018 11:26:51

Another great capture Jim. Good color and texture, excellent use of foreground, middle ground and background. You certainly got a great day with no wind and great lighting.   Posted: 01/16/2018 10:28:48

Another beautiful scenic, Jim. . . sharp from the grasses which anchor the foreground thru the peaks in the back. Beautiful color, textures and composition. I'd like it on my wall, too.   Posted: 01/25/2018 22:07:32
