About the Image(s)

Title: Bridge over Glen Canyon Dam

The bridge over the Glen Canyon Dam is a remarkable landmark in Page, AZ, near Lake Powell. It span over the Colorado river at the Dam that produces hydroelectricity for several states in the southwest of the United States.
I took this phot with a Nikon D750, Nikkor 28-300mm AF-Sa set at 28mm, f/11, 100 and 1/180s. Very minimal adjustment in LR. Resized in Photoshop to meet size restrictions

I like the angle you photographed from and the vanishing point effect (nice lens choice). It looks to me the image is technically well captured - sharp, well exposed. The strong shadow line of the bridge adds interest and indicates time of day. The amount of foreground you included works well for me.The strong shadow in the bottom right is a bit of a distraction for me, but not sure what you could have done with that. I would consider just a slight darkening and saturation of the blue in the sky to provide more contrast on the horizon.   Posted: 05/07/2020 07:53:34

Compositionally this is a sound image. The diagonal lines of the bridge lead the eye into the image. For me the semi vertical shadow in the center of the i mage is the strongest line simply because of its angle the the way it jumps out of the image.

I would suggest adding contrast to the mountains because to me they feel flat and mostly featureless. Perhaps increasing the black point will bring out the features as well.   Posted: 05/07/2020 16:53:00

This is a nice composition with the right amount of sky at the top of the image. Any less sky and image would not be balanced right. I like the way the bridge takes you right to the mountains in the distance...good leading lines. My first impression before reading any other comments is that the shadow in the lower right should be a bit lighter, my eye seems to want to go there. I think that the sky and mountains behind the bridge could use a bit of contrast as well as the sky. Good shot.   Posted: 05/11/2020 08:42:49

Good composition, but I found the picture to be flat. I adjusted with curves and darken the sky.   Posted: 05/17/2020 14:26:13

I like the composition, the bridge creates a nice leading line to the mountains. I agree with the others that adding contrast to the sky will give the image more interest. I like Richard's treatment of it.   Posted: 05/19/2020 01:03:16
