About the Image(s)

Spring Time
The image is taken about a week ago in a small wood in mid England. I am using the quiet time now to practice on new features in Photoshop. I used luminosity mask to mask out the flowers and give them more saturation. Then I used the plugin Luminar 4 to make the sun beams. Finally, is used a LUT to make a tint of golden light.

Camera: Olympus OM 10 with kit lens at 14 mm
Settings: ISO: 200, shutter: 1/400, f/5

Arne, you did some very nice work on bringing out the colors of the flowers and the sunshine in various areas. I like the log and its position in the photo. I'll have to try this process myself. Nicely Done.   Posted: 05/02/2020 13:33:03

I like the way you positioned the downed tree in the image and the light rays and that the bright part of the light rays stayed in the image. The light on the tree draws me eye through the image and the spots of light add a lot of visual interest. The back lighting on the trees is interesting too. I think increasing the brightness and saturation of the flowers really enhanced the image. For my eye though, they seem a bit over saturated I would consider darkening the tree limb where it goes out of the image at the right to help keep the eye in the image. This was a beautiful spot   Posted: 05/02/2020 19:11:47

I love this type of scene. I think your post work, especially the flowers and the sun beams worked out really well. I've been experimenting with the luminosity mask in Lightroom. It is supposed to be quite similar to the one in PS. What you did to the flowers is quite impressive. I may have to try the mask in PS.

It may be my monitor, but the log seems a bit too magenta especially compared to the original.   Posted: 05/03/2020 08:59:01

Thank you for your comments, guys. For those of you who would like to try out luminosity masks, I will recommend TK 6 panel that is free. Here is the link: https://goodlight.us/panels-and-videos.html   Posted: 05/03/2020 10:07:02

A nice calm image of an early spring afternoon. I have actually been watching a few YouTube videos on luminosity masks myself. I like your results. I do agree with Larry about the log, it does seem magenta on my monitor as well. The original does not seem to have this problem so you my want to manually adjust your mask to exclude it. I will check out the link you provided, thanks!   Posted: 05/06/2020 22:08:00

I like this image which brings out the flowers in the field. I agree with the others about the log being too magenta. It is spring time and I would expect the foliage in the background to be green as in the original and not brown. Other than that, excellent work and a nice image.   Posted: 05/11/2020 14:43:34
