Golden Gate at Sunset by Jyoti Sarkar

August 2019 - Golden Gate at Sunset

About the Image(s)

I was lucky to have perfect sunset at San Francisco Golden Gate area this summer. This tripod shot was captured in high aperture (F22) and slow shutter speed (1/5 sec) with ISO200 using Nikon D90. I will appreciate your feedback.

This is an excellent image. I like the very dark Marin Hills in the background. That forces your eye to the bridge and sunset which, after all, are the subject. I would tone down the light on the fort in the lower left of the image but this is a really great image.   Posted: 08/08/2019 10:31:06

"Luck" was planning to be there at sunset. Nicely seen. You have left enough shadow detail to let the bridge supports be visible. Is it my eye, or is the image tilted a bit to the right? For me, I like the light from the fort; it provides a point of interest. This is a really nice image.   Posted: 08/08/2019 10:59:36

I really like the color, tone and composition of this image. I agree with Michael, the image is tilted to the right so I adjusted it in ACDsee to straighten it out.   Posted: 08/08/2019 12:04:39

Thanks. i didn't notice the tilt in LR as I was focusing on the water line between the bridges.   Posted: 08/08/2019 15:18:04

A well-composed picture. The exposure is spot on. I agree with your camera settings, except I would use ISO 100 to double the time to blur the sea. Maybe it would not make a big difference in this case.   Posted: 08/10/2019 01:57:58

I really love this image. A beautiful sky against the Golden Gate bridge. I do see the slight tilt the others mentioned.   Posted: 08/15/2019 00:37:59

Luck is all you need sometimes. Also, the ability to compose the photo, set the camera and take your photo. Very nicely done.   Posted: 08/26/2019 17:10:27
