About the Image(s)

This was taken with my normal Nikon D300 converted camera with a Sigma 17-35m.m. lens taken on 17 m.m,
This is a well known beauty spot in the Lake District called Ashness Bridge. The three images were blended in Photomatix Pro. on the hand held (standard) feature and tone mapped. It was a windy day and I wondered how it would come out, but although there is a bit of movement i some of the foliage, because the bridge road and hut were stable, thought I would carry on processing. I then took it into PS and did the usual levels, brightening and added some clarity where needed on the road, bridge and hut.

This is a striking image Helen. The bridge provides a strong lead in line to the hut. The wall and line of trees also lead the eye to the hut from the right hand side of the image. The slight break in the clouds above the hut also adds interest. This is a famous beauty spot in the Lake District but I have neve seen it from this angle so it is also a very original image. I cannot think of any way to improve it. Altogether a lovely piece of work.   Posted: 06/11/2018 01:02:38

You have all the components to make a beautiful scene. The bridge is a great subject and the scene is enhanced with the building on the other side. I particularly like the sky condition. It doesn't detract rather it adds some more interest to the composition. I feel that the IR really makes the scene come alive, far more than a conventional b/w or even color rendition. You must have a really steady hand for hand holding the camera while making three exposures.   Posted: 06/15/2018 14:18:15

First of all, I like that you have posted all the exposures that made up your final image and I intend to follow suit in the future. Secondly, I have never even attempted an HDR hand held - were you a sharpshooter in a previous incarnation? Very impressive. I think the tiny bit of motion you are referring to has produced a rather nice soft effect. I like this image very much.   Posted: 06/17/2018 13:05:45

This is gorgeous! The fact you handheld is just amazing! There is a beautiful ethereal feel to this for me. Just love, won't change a thing and think it is perfection!

I really liked this image. Just had to sit and look at it for awhile. Nice hdr combination. I haven't used photomatix very much lately, and have the latest version, I'll have to give it a try again.   Posted: 06/19/2018 13:48:09
