About the Image(s)

Hi Folks I did not finish my new creative in time for this month, so this contribution will have to do. I am sorry that I do not have all the elements.

I took this photo of my grandson holding a book and bottle. It was taken inside with a pop up backdrop. Another day got my husband to pour water out of the bottle and also captured some splashes. I took the photo of the glass and a computer for Dummies book all the same backdrop. Then changed the text and photo on the book and combined them all. I did some dodging and burning added a sparkle around the bottom of the glass, a vignette and turned it mono.

Excellent! It's so well put together and such fun.
You've done well with altering the text and you imagination shows through. Getting your Grandson to pose shows that you've got a way of persuading people to play too. Getting all the images using the same backdrop was a good move. Obviously you're good at planning as well.
Well done and thanks for the entertainment!   Posted: 08/04/2019 15:26:32

What a hoot, Denise! Great job of planning ahead and executing your vision. With your grandson's old timey hat and jacket, it's perfect that you switched to black & white rather than color. Love the sparkle at the bottom of the glass. How did you do it? Great job with the splashes too. You and your grandson will look back on this image years from now with fond memories, I'm sure. Well done!   Posted: 08/11/2019 17:02:32

Such a well thought out project. Everything works together so well. Your grandson was the perfect subject. Black and white was the perfect choice, and the sparkles on the glass finish perfectly.   Posted: 08/13/2019 11:36:07

Clever, fun idea skillfully executed. All the elements are well thought out and put together. His hat, outfit and expression along with the monochrome create an old-timey image. I, too like the sparkles and wonder how you did them. I'd add a very narrow shite or grey stroke to set it off from our black background.
(Unintended consequence: You gave us an idea for our wannabe magician's ninth birthday present. There actually is a "Magic for Dummies" which we ordered along with a magic kit. Thanks.)   Posted: 08/14/2019 00:19:31

Never mind the stroke. Your nicely textured backdrop doesn't blend with our black space.   Posted: 08/14/2019 00:23:38

Denise, your image is a very well done story. Everything in the image is so tac sharp, and the expression on your grandson's face is priceless! I'm glad you did this in monochrome. Your range of tonality is fantastic.

Hope you have a family book, in which to put this image so it can be passed on to future generations!   Posted: 08/24/2019 22:03:44
