About the Image(s)

I did this image in 2017. The figures I took at The Hunter Valley Gardens, many years ago, keeping them in my mind that I may use them one day. A huge stash will never go astray. I cannot find the original images at the moment, but I took my 91 year old mother away for 5 nights to the same place and was able to take a few more snaps. Not that same but just to let you know I did take them. The bridge in Venice was taken very early one morning, to the cries of "How many more photos do you want to take of that bridge" by my husband. I replied you never know what one I will need in the future! I added the dark blue for the sky, keeping it looking like a cartoon. I added a colour texture over the pavement. Many layers of shadows, but looking at it now, it could have used some more. I have used detail extractor on the buildings and figures and it looks like some Oil Paint. It has done pretty good in some comps. I wonder where I can put the new figures I took.

What a wonderful mix of nursery rhymes! It's very well put together. Good composition and lots of interesting elements.
Well done.   Posted: 07/08/2019 16:52:49

I just love the cartoon effect of this composite. Aren't we lucky we have digital cameras. We can take all the pics we want. The only filters you used were detail extractor and Oil Paint. I never get detail extractor to look like this. Was Oil Paint in PS? Was it applied after detail extractor? I can't wait to change my grandchildren into cartoons.   Posted: 07/08/2019 21:27:54

This is GREAT Denise! Every element works well and contributes to the fantasy of the whole composition. You've done a wonderful job with the shadows and textures. The bridge looks like it was just made for Humpty Dumpty. How did you do the magical wisp above the book? It adds a lot to the scene. Nice!   Posted: 07/13/2019 11:30:42

I love this image! The cartoon effect, the colors, everything. I am especially interested in that wisp above the book and echo Jan's query! Also, I'm wondering what you used out of the second original. The book in your image looks so different than the book in the second original. I'd have liked to see more of the component images.

This was excellently done!   Posted: 07/14/2019 16:19:15

Charming. Love what you've done compositing the many elements. Lots of work! Just enough oil paint. I, too, would be interested in the source of the other elements. What is detail extractor?   Posted: 07/23/2019 23:27:17

Thanks Helen, the characters were all taken at The Hunter Valley Gardens. A beautiful gardens about 1.5 hours from where I live. detail Extractor is part of the Nik Colour Efex.
