Encased Pyramid by Helen Sweet

About the Image(s)

Greetings from Argentina and Patagonia. Spending my days photographing some amazing sites, I haven't had any creative inspiration re converting them. So I'm sending something I'd done previously and never used. I believe it was the visible framework of a building. If I can locate the original, I'll add it. I copied the image onto a new layer which I flipped horizontally and reduced to 50% opacity. Then I merged the two layers and added a stroke.

Revisiting my image, I would crop off the top fourth to make it more relevant to the title.   Posted: 03/02/2019 20:07:55

I just can't imagine why someone from Green Bay would want to go to Patagonia in the dead Wisconsin's winter in exchange for Argentina's summer. Enjoy. Your image makes a beautifully muted abstract design. The colors are well matched, but its's a bit too busy for my taste.   Posted: 03/07/2019 18:33:19

It looks like you've had some fun experimenting which I applaud.
Like Alan, I find it a bit busy so that there's no point of focus. Saying that, why not put some more elements into it - make it even busier but give it a point of focus (enter some Goth ladies parts) And have fun too!   Posted: 03/10/2019 17:00:39

I love geometric images as well as architectural images and you've combined them into a very pleasing bit of symmetry here. It looked like a very fun image to play with so I gave it a try. First I cropped in tighter on the center. In PS I applied Poster Edges and Glowing Edges. In On1 I applied HDR, Glow, Color Enhancer, and Brocade Black texture. My version obliterated the pyramid, which I very much like in your version, but I had fun playing.   Posted: 03/11/2019 18:05:40

I do love the geometric quality of your image and agree that perhaps an upper crop would emphasize the pyramid more, as the central subject.Perhaps darkening the color or doing something to increase the opacity of the pyramid would help also, as it would pull the focal points back to the pyramid, away from the black of the lines. Steve did something similar by adding a Goth face as the subject and focal point! I do like what he did.   Posted: 03/13/2019 14:07:28

Helen, you found an interesting piece of architecture. Maybe more contrast and a crop from the top would give more definition.   Posted: 03/16/2019 11:27:46
