About the Image(s)
I photographed an old key on a hymn book. I added 5 textures by Pexels which is a free stock site. I downloaded 5 textures. The first one I changed Blend More to Soft Light, Opacity 100%.
The second texture I changed Blend Mode to Luminosity, Opacity 22%. The third texture Blend More is Soft Light, Opacity 66%. The Fourth Texture Is Blend Mode, Soft Light and Opacity 100%.
The Fourth Texture Soft Light and Opacity 80%.
To Finish off It was cropped and a vignette added.

In my opinion, you did a good job of combining the textures and bringing out the various colors of the textures. I also enjoy the musical score background.
It appears that the key is the primary subject, yet it seems to be lost under the texture, in my opinion. The musical score competes with the key for subject attention. You might consider cutting out the key to a separate layer, enlarging or lengthening the key a bit, and unmasking it to remove most of the texture.   Posted: 06/05/2018 10:52:19

I like your concept and your title is very cool Christine. I agree with Georgianne about the key needing to be more prominent by removing some of the texture on just that part. I think adding a pretty strong shadow under the key would help it stand out from the prayer book also. I played with your image a bit by painting out some of the texture on the key, adding a shadow, and applying a spotlight effect. The textures you selected are very nice and work well together to make the book look aged and interesting.   Posted: 06/08/2018 14:55:58
Good job, Jan. I was not happy with the image but I guess that is what happens when you are in a hurry.   Posted: 06/17/2018 00:09:42

Excellent composition, Christine. I do agree that the textures seem to overpower the key and using a mask to remove some of the texture might help. Also, maybe burning the key a bit in soft light mode might help to emphasize it.   Posted: 06/10/2018 21:41:25

A good idea and a lovely image. Personally I'd have liked a little more clarity overall - the key and notes have been blurred a little too much for me.
I like what Jan has done to bring the focus more onto the key.
I like the textures you've used to make it look more aged.
A good image but maybe needs a little more (or less) work.   Posted: 06/11/2018 04:02:27

Jan's changes help a lot but even there, more dramatic and less flat lighting is needed.   Posted: 06/17/2018 16:42:43

A very aged-looking result. I like the coloring and the texture you selected. I,too, would remove the texture from the key. You could sharpen it and still have its own, original, aged texture.   Posted: 06/25/2018 01:39:58
