About the Image(s)

I did some cloning on the background. I added oil painting from PS, then, in a second layer, a frame around the flower and another around the entire image.

You turned the image of a lovely flower into a real work of art, in my opinion. I really like the window within a window, with the flower coming out of the inner window. Nice job!   Posted: 07/05/2017 06:52:28

Different to see the back of the flower. Usually it's the front that's portrayed.
A quick and effective treatment, but often they're the most effective.

Thank you, Steve. The original was from an Ian Plant online class.
In the section on lighting, the assignment was to capture backlighting. The best example I found was the backlit back of the sunflower.
I feel this is too tight relative to the size of the flower. Before submitting it for a Creative competition at my club, I'll make the background square larger.   Posted: 07/09/2017 18:48:06

You have a wonderful backlit sunflower, Helen.I believe that I would have repaired the torn petal on the top left. In my opinion, the crop on the sunflower is too tight or the main square should be smaller. The colors are lovely and the dappled background adds to the image. Good work.   Posted: 07/12/2017 13:28:02

I like this a lot Helen. The detail in the green portion is really nice and the backlighting adds a nice mood. I especially like the way you added the inner frame to be behind some of the petals, but the outer frame does seem just a bit too large to my eye, although I really like your idea of using a second one. My eye seemed to go right to the bright tips on the two top petals petals, so I might have colored those in with yellow. The oil paint filter in PS is absolutely one of my favorites and I like its use here. Beautiful image!   Posted: 07/12/2017 18:01:16

I love this image, Helen. The two frames work really well and the lighting is lovely through the petals. The work you did between the two frames is really interesting and works much better than a plain colour. Well done.   Posted: 07/16/2017 01:22:19
