Sony A550 – Sigma 24 -70mm 2.8 @60mm ISO200 1/400 F8
Mevagissey is one of the best and my favourite fishing ports in Cornwall and has a large harbour surround by layers of houses of stone, brick, grey or white, but right on the edge of the harbour is this one house that is painted bright Orange. In the UK this is not normally allowed at it spoils the decor and ambiance of the place. So everyone is amazed to see this house. Good fish and chips here.
General touch up in lightroom and balanced in PS using luminosity masks.

Excellent photo with good composition and appropriate format. The sky, settlement and sea areas are well divided. I like that despite the sunshine there are also clouds in the sky. I notice the striking orange house, which fits very well with the color of the equipment (buoy, life rings) of the boats. I like the photo very much.   Posted: 04/05/2021 04:03:37

My eyes directly see the orange color building. It's become primary point of interest. Ambience during the shoot was cloudy was helped by that orange color building. Boats in foreground, buildings in the center, and cloud in background make this photo very interesting.   Posted: 04/05/2021 04:56:14

Classic West Country harbour scene and that red house together with the threatening sky makes for a very enjoyable image. I agree with Raymond about the complimentary colours between the red house and the rings on the boats. (PS Do you know John Weston in Gloucester Camera Club?)   Posted: 04/08/2021 17:30:32

I love the detail in this photo. The bright orange and yellow buildings next to the stone and plainer color buildings really add to the scene, as do the dark clouds.   Posted: 04/15/2021 22:41:55
