About the Image(s)

The image was taken with the Fuji X-T2 at 1/125 seconds, aperture 16 and ISO 200 with 55 mm (lens XF18 – 55 mm). The image was processed with minimal editing in Lightroom.

2 weeks ago, it snowed 30 - 40 cm overnight in Zurich. Traffic had great difficulties; public transport had to be shut down. This was me a good opportunity to take a walk in the immediate surroundings. This showed pictures like I have not seen for years.

Cool shot. Love the fence line. But, I feel it's a little in need of a touch more contrast. Tough to call on a day like this with socked in weather.   Posted: 02/01/2021 10:35:17

Thanks Bob for your feedback. I tried it, more contrast works and makes the image better.   Posted: 02/02/2021 10:25:09

Very pretty and nice composition, leading lines.... Wow!
Is the grain intentional? I would think ISO 200 would not have that much noise in the sky. (perhaps its just the way it scales up on my 4K monitor) If intentional it does give the feeling of an older photograph, and sets a mood that I'm at a loss for words to describe, but I like it.

Hello Randy

Thank you for your feedback. I used Lightroom's sliders 'Struktur' and 'Dunst entfernen' (in English I think 'Texture' and 'Dehaze') when developing. The observed effect is enhanced by the weather - it was snowing during the shot.   Posted: 02/03/2021 11:01:14

I really like this picture. It evokes memories of the quiet stillness after a new snowfall and the feel of stepping into deep snow. (Living in California, I rarely see snow anymore, but I lived until recently on the East Coast where we had lots of snowstorms.) The leading lines of the fence and path add nicely to the picture.   Posted: 02/04/2021 00:26:21

I love composition of this image. Since I have not feel the snow (just saw small one when I visited shanghai .lol.) I can feel the freeze from this image. Nice shot.   Posted: 02/05/2021 03:55:06

Such a simple image that has all you want in an image. I even like that touch of the building peaking through the trees in the distance as it gives you a target to head home to.
We have a flurry of snow over here and the news goes into meltdown that the country comes to a stand still, god helps us if we get this. Wonderful.   Posted: 02/08/2021 07:09:27
