Another Lighthouse in Maine by Elizabeth Mangham

October 2020 - Another Lighthouse in Maine

About the Image(s)

Another lighthouse in Maine. I tried to find the name of it, but so far I do not remember it and can't find it. Some of you may know.
Camera: Canon 5D, Lens 24-105. SS 160, f 16, ISO 200, Tripod mounted.
I darkened this shot just a little because it was such a sunny day. In PP I removed some cars parked in the front right of the frame.
Only pieces of them showed and they detracted from the focus. There was no way to frame this house up without a little of the cars
sticking their noses in. Since they did not add, I removed them. I looked for clouds to add but could not find any to match that lighting.
I considered moving the lady on the path back to the first big rock, but decided she was better where she is. I'll be interested to see
what you think.

Good image. Postcard picture kind of day. Maybe burn in the highlights a bit. I see your point about the human in the image. If this was going onto my wall, I would clone it out.   Posted: 10/06/2020 13:56:18

Thanks for verifying that the lady needs to go. I love the help you all offer.   Posted: 10/12/2020 22:41:56

Beautiful sunny image. The horizon is so straight and clean. At my first glance I did not even realize that there is a human element in the image. So it is not distracting at all. Overall a very nice image to start the day with.   Posted: 10/12/2020 22:16:04

I struggled forever, it seems, but love the lever on my Canon 5D. It is a real help. Thanks for your reply.   Posted: 10/12/2020 22:43:53

Beautiful picture of a picturesque building, which is probably a tourist attraction. The colors and the format fit. I like the viewing angle and the small white sailboat in the background. The woman at the rock does not bother me, you only see her at second glance anyway.   Posted: 10/13/2020 10:14:49

The first thought when looking at this was, "nice place to live" I could quite happily sit there and watch the world float by.
I must admit till I read your description I never noticed the lady. I do agree you could pull the highlights back a touch. I do look at this and wish you had the rest of the garden on the right as I do get the feeling of cropped off, I would then move that sail boat over a cm to give a touch more separation from the house.
Lovely postcard picture.   Posted: 10/19/2020 05:10:17
