I would prefer to have more info on the image, but I think the rainbow is done well. I can't identify the item in the trench but it sort of lines up at the end of the rainbow. I'm pretty sure is isn't a pot o'gold. The camera could have been closer to the mound and made to appear closer to the rainbow. Whatever camera is available is the best.   Posted: 05/13/2020 19:09:58

Thanks. It was actually a double rainbow, but I didn't get a good recording on the second one, so cropped. A neighbor a few miles away shot the double for a local chat board and got it very well. The foreground element is a one horse plow from the old days. Guess I should have moved in closer.

Beautiful photograph! The colors work well together and the red horse plow nicely reflects the red section of the rainbow. The overcast part of the sky where it appears to be raining contrasts nicely with the more brightly lit part of the scene. You really captured that moment when a storm is moving across an area and a rainbow appears.   Posted: 05/14/2020 07:02:34

Oh I look at this and all I can think is that I wish you had got in closer to the plough and used it more with the rainbow, I think you missed a really dramatic image here. The layers and the rainbow is nice but the plough just sits there and for me does not come into it. I know the farmer was standing there with his shotgun waiting for you to put one foot on his land, but all the top photographer do say you have to die for your photography.
Like Bob's toning.   Posted: 05/17/2020 07:14:29

It wasn't the shotgun that scared me. It was his daughter.

Very beautifully worked out rainbow. As already mentioned, the plough irritates at the beginning until you recognize it. It could have been better integrated or left out. I also like the three green layers of paint.   Posted: 05/17/2020 10:04:37

I have never been able to get the secondary rainbow to show up well. I wonder why we see them, but they are so difficult to capture. Bob, I see what you wanted to capture and I experimented a little. This may not be what you want and it is a "quickie" but it gives you something to consider. I teally like the strips of grasses in different colors.   Posted: 05/27/2020 20:37:16
