Mischabel by Raymond Zurschmitten

May 2020 - Mischabel

About the Image(s)

The image was taken with the Fuji X-T2 at 1/20 seconds, aperture 11 and ISO 200 with 61 mm (lens 40 - 140 mm). The image was taken without filters and processed with minimal editing in Lightroom.

We were in the Valais Alps on New Year's Eve. In the morning there were loose clouds around the mountain tops, which turned red at sunrise - a nice motif for taking pictures.

Another terrific scenic shot of the Alps. I think the color is exciting in the upper left and somewhat flat elsewhere. I think in order to add interest to the rest of your image, you should work the image more in post. Not even analog cameras take images that don't need post production. I think a simple crop improves the image.   Posted: 05/13/2020 20:40:37

Thank you Bob for your comment. Since I love the whole mountain range, I found it a pity to interrupt it. But the cropping is a quite interesting variation.   Posted: 05/17/2020 08:48:45

Awesome photograph! I love the bright pink against the darker purple. It works really well together. The purple creates quite a mood, suggesting early morning or early evening on an isolated snowy mountain.   Posted: 05/14/2020 07:08:19

Thank you Marilyn for your comment. The picture was taken in the morning before sunrise. I watched the series of shots - the cloud only had this intense color for about 5 minutes.   Posted: 05/17/2020 08:53:34
