About the Image(s)
I too needed a break from my usual still life shots and “went digging” into some old files. When I opened this file, I must admit, some moths flew out… but here it is resurrected. This was taken on a trip to Alaska about 4 years ago, and this is the cruise part of the journey. This is on approach to Glacier Bay… a typical over-cast, fog filled day with a relatively flat sky … Not to worry, I shot this with a FF camera & 70-200 lens at 70mm, hold on F8 1/8000, ISO 3,200. ( I think I read the meta data correctly) We were on a moving vessel… and, probably the cold was getting to my grey matter… and, my fingers for sure.. . I remember standing on the promenade deck, wearing everything in my suit case plus hand warmers in all of my pockets… thinking… Wow, what a beautiful sight… I just HAVE to get this shot no matter what… so, I just cranked up everything… and, here it is…no April Fool’s joke either!

This is an interesting and well-balanced landscape.
The sky is only just strong enough and works very well.   Posted: 04/14/2021 15:13:27
So glad you went rooting in the back catalogue, your description made me shiver just reading it,so glad you braved it though.
Beautiful tones throughout you have handled the whites in the glacier so well, the mist//low cloud adds atmosphere and the foreground is broken up with the floating ice.
Hope you realise how worthwhile your dedication proved.   Posted: 04/17/2021 11:11:57
