Abstract by Ella Schreiber, QPSA, APSA

October 2020 - Abstract

About the Image(s)

Abstract is the image for this month… I resurrected this long lost and forgotten plate while cleaning my garage a couple months ago and decided to take a couple shots before deleting this from storage. This image was taken with window light on my dining room table… it is of a porcelain plate purchased at least 20 years ago while in Mexico. I used a FF Camera with 24-105 lens at 1/160, F4, ISO 400… In post processing, I used NIK to convert to BW, added a filter, burned and dodged in areas, cropped the image, added a 3 pix stroke and called it done.

Ella - this image sure does grab the viewers attention and the tight crop is spot on. Very well lit and processed
with plenty of detail where needed and critically sharp.

Would be interested to see the colour version - that could be amazing!   Posted: 10/10/2020 06:17:23

Ella this is a really compelling image. I can see a Picasso like face in the image, two eyes, a nose and a chin. Both the color version and the B&W version offer very pleasing abstracts. Well done.   Posted: 10/11/2020 14:14:44

Ella, what a fantastic abstract!

I can also see the face which is wonderfully weird.

Magical.   Posted: 10/16/2020 02:27:52
