Logan River Trail by Michael Nath

October 2020 - Logan River Trail

About the Image(s)

The image is a view of the Logan River trail in Cache Valley, Utah close to where I live. It is an infrared image taken with a converted camera. The image was taken at 1/15 second, F22, and ISO 100 with an 18-55mm lens set at 33mm. Photoshop levels and curves adjusted as desired. The trail runs parallel to the river for several miles and offers many opportunities for photography.

HI Michael: When I saw your image, I could imagine myself riding my bike or walking down this trail. Nice leading line and, nicely processed. I suspect this is lovely in color as well.   Posted: 10/07/2020 15:33:20

Michael - I really like the tunnel effect created by the trees which leads the eye into the image. I am undecided as to whether or not the image would be stronger with a clearly defined focal point at the end of the trail.

I find the light tones of the leaves top/middle left tend to draw the eye out of the image. As Ella noted this could be stunning in colour - at the right time of year.

Hello Michael. I like your concept of the road leading to who knows what. I would prefer less solid black and if possible some detail in the dark shadow areas. If this were my image I would have probably removed the white leaves on the left side of the image so that my eye would not tend to go there.   Posted: 10/11/2020 14:07:29

Michael, an image very much after my own heart.
I always like these locations with path meandering through the trees.

I must agree with Ed and Peter about the bright leaves.   Posted: 10/16/2020 02:19:44
