Hi Michael - a pastoral image well suited to the use of infrared. The sky is great, but I feel that it is over emphasized in that the blacks would benefit from lifting a bit to add delicacy to that area.

I don't know what your views are re. removing items from an image(when permitted, i.e. not in PT), but I felt that the image would be more balanced by the removal of the cows on the right. Just my take on the image, see rough edit below ....   Posted: 05/08/2020 04:12:27

Its amazing Peter, how the removal of a few cows has that much of an effect on improving the image. I believe that you as well brightened the image as well?   Posted: 05/08/2020 15:38:12

Yes Paul - I made a few subtle adjustments to lift the blacks in the sky and to lighten the remainder of the image   Posted: 05/08/2020 15:44:00

Hi Michael... beautiful image... since Peter is the go to with post processing, I do believe his tweaks and suggestions make for an over-all improvement to an already beautiful image.   Posted: 05/09/2020 11:10:12

Hi Michael
Love the effect IR gives this image fantastic lighting and detail in the trees I think Peters removal of the cows on the right has really balanced it up but a really pleasing image.   Posted: 05/09/2020 14:44:20

You have chosen an excellent subject for IR and the resulting image is also excellent.

I like the image as submitted but Peter's removal of the cow has made an amazing difference.   Posted: 05/11/2020 04:04:36

I agree that removal of the two cows on the right would improve the image. However, my skills at removing them in photoshop are not up to the task. I generally print my better photographs at 11"x14"" or larger and any mistakes are greatly enhanced at large print sizes and are all too visible. Therefore the cows remain.

My solution should have been to redo the image and rotate the camera slightly to the right so the cows are better placed. I appreciate everyone's comments and suggestions.   Posted: 05/19/2020 11:23:47
