Paul - I do enjoy images of sand dunes although I have only photographed those in Death Valley. The image has great depth with the repeating dunes and the diffusion towards the horizon. Understandably there is essentially no detail in the shadow areas, but I feel that brightening up the highlights a little gives the image more impact - it is a little flat as it stands. Equally well doubling the amount of sky would add a better balance to the image - IMHO
A 1 to 2 pixel white stroke would concentrate the eye when the image is viewed on a black background   Posted: 12/16/2019 07:44:00

Thank you for your comments, Peter. What's interesting is that I printed the image, and in fact have detail in the shadows. I see your point about the sky.   Posted: 12/18/2019 09:18:56

Maybe the jpeg compression absorbed the subtle detail in the shadows?   Posted: 12/18/2019 10:35:51

An excellent image.
The detail in the shadows may have been reduced by the small file size we use?   Posted: 12/22/2019 05:21:08

Paul I like the concept and composition. The bottom dune seems to mirror the top in the upper right of the image, leading me through the image. If possible I would increase the detail in the third shadow from the bottom. There is already some detain in that shadow band. Paul I rarely suggest a visual improvement, but I like this image so I have attached a suggestion of my interpretation.   Posted: 12/22/2019 15:15:43
