Kylemore Abbey by Ella Schreiber, QPSA, APSA

August 2019 - Kylemore Abbey

About the Image(s)

Having just returned from Ireland, Kylemore Abbey was one of the most interesting and lovely places we visited. The weather was perfect and understand how lucky we were for such a nice day. A CS camera with a 18-400 lens @ 35mm, 1/250, F9, ISO 125 hand held. Post camera processing was done using NIK, selective burning and dodging, a small curves adjustment, sharpened, slight vignette was added and a 3 pix stroke … and called it done.

Ella - super shot of this amazing building with great lighting and reflections/texture in the water. Nicely framed, etc. - good job as usual!   Posted: 08/10/2019 03:31:18

Peter. thank you for your nice comments... a real fairytale castle, with a history and stories of love, romance, and tragedy... something out of a novel.   Posted: 08/24/2019 20:13:36

I agree with Peter.
The inclusion of the water says much about the status of the building.   Posted: 08/15/2019 02:52:39

Hi, Ella!

What a fairytale castle, stunning view. Great composition, i like it. Inclusion of the foreground for the viewer is a very winning solution. Good job!   Posted: 08/19/2019 04:14:20

Hi Ella
Wow what a superb composition the entire castle is framed by either trees or the reeds on the riverbank this really strengthens the image and focuses the eye on the main subject the light I imagine was very contrasty but you have handled it in camera and in post processing really well, always love seeing your work but for me this is my favourite for me its perfect.   Posted: 08/24/2019 15:05:26

Ian, thank you for your very nice feedback... luck was on my side when visiting this place... the weather was perfect, but, mid-day light as you can sort of see by the shadows. Thanks again   Posted: 08/24/2019 20:11:09
