About the Image(s)
I went to my local zoo, of which I am a member, and wanted to check out the afternoon light. A MISTAKE… in any case, I made the most of the bright Arizona sun light. Usually, I walk right by this guy's enclosure, but, found him posing for me… I could not resist his cooperation and took full advantage by shooting what seemed to be 100 shots (actually 10) of him. He IS a male Patas monkey because of his size… which is twice as large as the females. They are the only ground-dwelling primates found in East & West Africa. I used a CS-Camera with a 70-200 lens @ 200mm, hand held, (through the enclosure fence) @ F4, 1/320, ISO 640 (even though it was BRIGHT Arizona sun, his enclosure was under some very large shade trees).
In post-camera processing the image was cropped, a bit of selective burning and dodging, sharpened, added a slight vignette, and a 2 pixel light grey stroke… and, called it good to go. I think he is so cute and handsome, my kind of guy!

I agree with the suggestions concerning contrast.
The revised image is so much better.   Posted: 04/19/2018 02:46:13
A chic and characteristic portrait turned out. Super! I agree with the suggestions concerning contrast.   Posted: 04/20/2018 02:57:47
You have had so many great shots from your zoo visits and this is a superb portrait he looks like rather a stern Victorian gentleman I agree with Pauls original comment about upping the contrast which you did and it has really lifted it I am sure the monkey would love a copy.Well done Ella a superb animal portrait.   Posted: 04/21/2018 13:22:22
