About the Image(s)

This was taken a year ago, a lone seagull feather on a nearby beach. Not a great original image, not a great finished image either. I just thought you might have some suggestions, what you might have done with this image (besides throw it in the bin!). I don't remember exactly what I did and tried to check history, but it didn't reveal much which makes me think I worked on it in PS and Topaz. Probably used a paint or water color or similar effect.

I've tried various things with your original but I haven't succeeded in making anything as nice as you did. I'm afraid that I don't have any suggestions.   Posted: 12/04/2020 14:35:36

I like that you used a texture I prefer to have the feather sharp as in your original on the texture The feather was sharp and at a good angle I had trouble getting it as sharp as your original but I hope you get the idea   Posted: 12/06/2020 17:00:06

I'm not good at masking, but probably should use this as a practice image. That way the feather would probably be sharper.

Your photo looks very much like a painting and a frame would seal the deal. Very nice work.   Posted: 12/09/2020 13:36:52

I like the image - the background makes it, in my view. I like Tom's idea of adding a heavy white frame to emphasize the white feather on the darker background.   Posted: 12/09/2020 18:22:42

I finally played around with this, added a mat and frame per your suggestion (as an example). The feather still needs to be sharper as Judy recommended.   Posted: 12/29/2020 17:34:53
