About the Image(s)

Earlier in the spring these silver leaves were conspicuous against everything else which was green. I worked a bit on the background as well as sharpening, local contrast, and, of course, cropping.

Very nice. I like the composition and lighting very much. Excellent choice of subject. My only thought is if you could bring more attention to the smaller central leaves through the use of light and/or contrast.

That's a sensible idea. I'll try it.   Posted: 10/07/2020 09:49:53

Its a very nice shot, Robert. I like the lighting and the background is perfect. To me, the leaves at the forefront don't require any additional help to stand out -- the sharpness and color does a good job of that.   Posted: 10/08/2020 15:05:12

I think the composition is great and I also feel like you achieved your goal of sharpening the leaves so they are the focus. The background seems a little grainy on my screen, but that would be the only thing I would try to fix.   Posted: 10/12/2020 10:45:08

I agree with you, Jessica. I see graininess (is that a word?) in the leaves as well. They may be sharpened a bit too much, perhaps also indicated by the halo around the main leaves.   Posted: 10/12/2020 11:43:47

A very good composition the angle of the stem adds interest I would use an even steeper angle I would select the front leaves and blur the background more including the back most leaf in the blur or cloning it out   Posted: 10/12/2020 15:06:12

I cropped from the left and rotated to a slightly greater angle and used a preset in Snapseed on my iPad that darkened the background I could not remove the back leaf or add more canvas on the right as I would like to try Since I am using my iPad   Posted: 10/12/2020 15:19:57
