About the Image(s)

I am trying another stab at the fish. I went back to the same botanical garden from the last image and tried to get the "whole" fish. I captured these three guys. I took this hand held with my Nikon D7000. I have not done any post processing other than erasing some debris in the water.

Jessica, I like this much better than the previous image. This shows them in their environment and the lighting is much better. The top one is a little bright, you might try to tone it down. I might suggest cropping off the right ... about half the distance to the nearest fish tail. I'm glad you went back and tried it again.   Posted: 09/05/2020 15:28:02

Nice that you got all the fish and three is good
I agree with Dorinda that the top fish is too bright and rt side could be cropped more The fish need to be sharper. The grass is distracting and I feel it needs to be removed As one of my camera club mentors says his first rule is whatever position you are taking the photo from there is always another position that is better   Posted: 09/05/2020 16:19:53

It is not easy for find an antiparallel orientation of three fish like this. In our pond, they show a very strong preference for parallel clusters. Use of a polarizing filter might have helped reduce the reflection from the water's surface.   Posted: 09/07/2020 14:19:22

Mother nature likes groupings of 3 and you have a lovely photo. As noted, the reflection is distracting. Stronger composition that your first submission with a better story.
Agree with the other suggestions and you are headed in the right direction. Good photo.   Posted: 09/16/2020 12:04:36
