Awaiting the Sun Bathers by Jon Joyce

May 2020 - Awaiting the Sun Bathers

About the Image(s)

I took this last summer on a morning beach walk in Lewes, DE. The image took on a nostalgic tone as I stared at it from here in my lockdown quarters. Gladly, this beach is still open to walkers, but not sunbathers. 1/250, f/8, ISO 140

I like the wonderful symbolism of this shot. The colors and the very difficult problem of the exposure both seem just right.   Posted: 05/04/2020 18:08:54

Good subject. Tells a story of the empty beaches. I straightened your horizon and did a slight crop. Not sure If I prefer my crop your yours?   Posted: 05/04/2020 20:36:55

A nice moody landscape I like it as you cropped it Lovely colors
Our beaches were closed even for walkers but to keep my battery alive my husband and I have driven past the ocean once a week for the past three weeks Just seeing the ocean was psychologically beneficial. I have lived near the ocean most of my life and love beach scenes like this   Posted: 05/04/2020 21:12:22

A very good portrail of the period we are going through. The bext thought is of the days to come and setting the gaurds stand up right and moving to the next stage in our countrys life. Very thoughtful and appropriate photo.   Posted: 05/09/2020 15:34:41

Awesome state of mind piece right now as Summer is approaching and we are all unsure (at least in the Mid-Atlantic/North East) about beach going. It really tells a story. I like the composition as well.   Posted: 05/19/2020 10:04:15
