About the Image(s)

This was taken on the Lewis River in SW Washington. A friend invited me to join her in photographing some scenic areas and as I usually do, I found my attention drawn more to the smaller "scenes" than the larger ones. Taken at 0.6 seconds, f6. 175mm focal length using my 16-300mm. Minimal cropping, minor adjustments including increasing green and yellow luminence.

Viewed as it is, the image has nice sharpness, nice illumination of the rock and leaves, and interesting streaks in the water. However, I prefer to view this as a cute juxtaposition titled "Small Volcano".   Posted: 11/04/2019 19:27:14

I think so because it ought to make people think a little bit.   Posted: 11/14/2019 10:56:50

I very much like the colors captured in the blurred flowing water. The slow shutter speed required to get the blurred affect was not too costly in blurring the leaves and moss on the rock which retains nice sharpness. Good job with the composition and execution.   Posted: 11/07/2019 13:57:57

Interesting sharp view of the leaves on the rock. The center of the leaves resembles an insect I would clone out or blur the yellow branch to the right of the rock   Posted: 11/11/2019 20:55:08

Interesting subject. I had to look twice to see that it wasn't an abject floating, but a rock that collected wet leaves. I love the softness of the water you achieved against the sharper focused rock. It makes for a very ethereal subject. The yellow reflection off to the right keeps drawing my attention. I would consider content awarding that out so it is the same color as the water.   Posted: 11/12/2019 10:14:17
