Cherry Blossom Time by Bill Foy

April 2021 - Cherry Blossom Time

About the Image(s)

This image was made April, 2019 at the Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, PA. I just happened to be standing at the top of a hill as these people walked toward the bridge, so I waited for the scene to unfold. Nikon D500, Tamron 18-270mm lens @ 18mm, f/11, 1/200, ISO-100. All post processing done in ACR & PS - crop, adjustments to exposure, highlights, shadows, and coloring.

What a pretty place. I love the little bridge and the blossoms are really pretty. I like this better as a horizontal shot. I also increased saturation and sharpening a little.   Posted: 04/07/2021 15:57:10

Great capture! Love the scene and the couple adds value. Perhaps I would crop it out so the branch atop right does now as much, I think it would bring more attention to the bridge and the couple. The blue sky through the branches looks very nice!   Posted: 04/13/2021 17:20:35

Bill,

That looks like a nice place to see and to photograph. You have the people in just the right place so waiting paid off. I think it works as a vertical or horizontal. It is nice seeing all the blossoms.   Posted: 04/16/2021 10:42:15

Hi Bill,
This looks idyllic and the blossoms make a lovely and strong frame for the people on the bridge. The blue sky also acts as a balance to the couple on the bridge.   Posted: 04/16/2021 11:23:51
