I love the image and composition and tone of the imahe, I imagine these are resting on a pond? Being a water lover, I would have loved to see the water element, perhaps pour water droplets from your hand to get a splash on the leaf & flower. Perhaps an odd comment, but I would have loved to see more water to complete the image and give it a "wet" effect and perhaps more shine. Just my opinion but water plants are always awesome and a nice add-on to portrait photography we can do here.   Posted: 03/10/2020 00:27:17

I had a little trouble figuring out the image, but with some curves adjustments, I think it has potential. The whites are somewhat blown out, but a polarizer would help if you go back, just make sure you stand 90 degrees to the sun so the CP filter will work. I agree that some water might add interest.   Posted: 03/10/2020 16:36:36

I, too, had some trouble seeing what the image is. Bob's adjustments definitely show the potential by bringing out the colors, lines, and textures of the various pieces of the flower and leaves.   Posted: 03/15/2020 10:47:27

I think I get it Tam. You came across a flower that was past its prime and its texture, color and composition caused you to see parts of an abstract, what I believe is a work of art and you were the only person in the world to capture it. And here is my version of what you saw, you just needed to complete the "look". I used your original image, opened it in Topaz in my favorite look of "expressionism" as it combines color and textures. Please excuse me if I have fallen overboard.   Posted: 03/15/2020 12:30:26

Interesting image. The whites are a bit blown out. I rather like Bob's rendition.   Posted: 03/15/2020 15:04:23

Some say we should never photograph dying flowers but they can make beautiful images. This lacks contrast and I would like to see more detail. Bob did a great job and I did one not so good.   Posted: 03/17/2020 14:34:00
