This photo was taken this fall at a local park, with my Olympus EM1 Mark II, 12-40mm lens at AP 2.8, ISO 640, 1/640. The men (one with the red vest) in the green canoe, I hired for the shot. Just kidding! It was a rare day out of the house with a friend! I cropped it in PS, adjusted the hue/saturation. I lightened the back area in the shadows.
And framed it.

Ah, a canoe at just the right place and time! Wonderful scene and composition. I find the brightness of the grasses in the foreground a little distracting, otherwise a great shot. Have you tried this in black and white, or perhaps selective colors? It gives the viewer a sense of autumn for sure. Another thing that could be done with this picture would be to crop into a pano, with just the lake and canoe. It's funny how sometimes there reside several images in one composition. Nice catch. I agree with Wanda about the crop. I was looking at the car in the background and thinking a crop of the canoe and the reflection might be interesting. Perhaps like this?

A great picture. I like the version where the sky was cropped out. Then my eye goes right to the green boat with the two people. I like the house and car in the picture. Posted: 02/18/2021 12:53:42

Sheila, I like it. It is always good when things just fall in place. I would probably remove the car or tone down the windows, maybe bring down the gras in the forground huct a little. Posted: 02/18/2021 19:44:46
