About the Image(s)

This picture was purposely overexposed because I wanted a light background. In LR, I adjusted the exposure of the flower and then used the brush to overexpose what still needed to become white. A month ago, I got a new iMac with 64 bit and now could update LR and PS which I wasn’t able to do with my old one. In the process, I found out that some of my older photo enhancing apps don't work on my new computer. So I got the new Topaz Studio 2 but since I haven’t used it much the last few years, I need to learn some new skills with it. Some of you may use Topaz Studio 2 and I would like to know the best way to learn it. Any instructors or YouTube videos you recommend? Tech Info: 1/20, f/8, ISO 500, on a tripod

I like the simplicity and the colors. It is beautiful and inviting. I like the high key processing. Well done.   Posted: 02/14/2021 11:30:27

I love the textures, lighting and colors of this image. You did a great job with editing and the dof is perfect! High key lighting works well for this beautiful blossom.   Posted: 02/15/2021 03:27:43

Beautiful image. Reminds me I have some amaryllis shots to work on. To be really picky, I think there may be some cleanup right at the tip of the petal to the right of the stem and also very slightly in the center above the flower - sort of between the center and the large petal on the left. Hard to notice really but might show up if shown on a large screen. Very nice work though on the extraction in general.   Posted: 02/15/2021 17:17:34

I cleaned it up as suggested. Thanks for noticing those details. Also made it as a BW. What do you think about that version.   Posted: 02/18/2021 11:13:38

Interesting. I like it. It's almost like an x-ray of the flower. Works both ways.
It is those little details that will knock points off in competition. I often have problems with extractions where I don't see those small details. :)   Posted: 02/18/2021 11:57:16

I love the high key look, and the simplistic nature. I also really like the b & w. Well done.   Posted: 02/18/2021 19:14:24

Wow-what a great picture. I feel this is faultless. I would give this a perfect score as a judge on: composition, lighting, color and technique. Well done Kathy!   Posted: 02/28/2021 21:38:43
