About the Image(s)

Last February I was driving on a mountain road. I love this barn. The original image is the color image. I wanted to process it as a high key image. I overexposed the background to bring in the high key look. I darkened the barn where needed. I also used a slight painterly filter. I decided to make it a panorama. It was shot at f11, 1/2000, ISO 320. I really enjoyed working with the creative aspect of processing.

Isn't it incredible what images we can get sometimes with just lightening them up! I like your final image. Very creative, and it goes well with a pano crop.   Posted: 01/09/2021 16:55:19

I think you might be talking about Shelia's image for member showcase. I do enter the individual portrait and creative contests.

I like what you did and also think the pano crop goes well with this image. It gives me ideas for my own images.   Posted: 01/20/2021 14:13:19

Hi Deb:

I apologize for being late on my comments. I have been working some crazy hours.

I guess I am going to be the odd ball in the group. I love how you highlighted the building in the new image. However, I much prefer the original image of the blue and the mountains in the background. To me, it has too much open white space. I feel this would be more appropriate for Monochrome (black and white) than a colored image. But, It really what the maker prefers.   Posted: 01/31/2021 20:38:05

Tom,

thanks for the comments. I always appreciate your insight. It is an interesting technique with the high key processing. I submitted it so hear the comments. I like the effect but it is different.

Many thanks   Posted: 01/31/2021 22:15:29
