Golden Rose by Sheila Burke-Grey

June 2020 - Golden Rose

About the Image(s)

I received a bouquet of flowers for my birthday in May..So I figured, since I was hunkering down anyway, I might as well take some photos of this rose. It was taken with Olympus OMD Em1 MarkII with 60mm lens. It was sized in Photoshop, dodged and burned, vignetted, and framed.

I really like the close-up of the rose. It brings your eye to the center. Very well done.   Posted: 06/14/2020 14:13:34

Very nice detail. I can smell the rose and fell the softness of the peddles. For a single item there is a lot to see here. Nice balance to the image. Thanks for sharing   Posted: 06/17/2020 09:02:52

You did a great job enhancing this single rose. A very minor thing I would do is erase the dark spot on the inner petal in the lower left side. My eye goes right to that spot.   Posted: 06/18/2020 21:55:28

I love the softness, the subtle shading, and of course the color of this rose. Well-done. Nice crop, except I would have a tendency to add a tad of oof bk ground on the left side or crop out just a bit more there.......away from the edge.   Posted: 06/23/2020 15:53:40
