The “Flying Lady” by Steve Jacobs

October 2019 - The “Flying Lady”

About the Image(s)

Why: The “Flying Lady” brought back so many memories. The one I think of most is a ride with my dad in a 1935ish Silver Cloud of friend of ours was special. Dad wasn’t a “car guy” they were just things to go from A to B, but the smile on his face I will never forget.

In LR I didn’t do much. Loft the highlights on the Flying Lady and RR badge, lower the exposure on the background a little Yes I know the “lady “ is a little out of focus but I really don’t mind . The print now hangs on my wall.

Tech Stuff: Nikon D850
ISO 100
Nikkor 25-85mm

In your explanation, you just reinforced what we each know, that photography is subjective and that is as it should be. You might consider darkening the white spots in the background as they pull at the eye a bit. It's always comforting when a picture causes us to remember special moments.   Posted: 10/10/2019 04:00:19

Love your story and that you now have hanging on your wall.
Photography should make us happy, not necessarily the judges.   Posted: 10/20/2019 01:29:31

Great memories, Steve! That's the most important part of your

Hi Steve-

Nice composition of the Hood ornament with clear shot of "ROLLS ROYCE". I love everything about it except the noise in the background. If it was my image, I would take the main subject and put in on a dark black background.   Posted: 10/22/2019 08:45:35

I like your story about why you took it. Also, I agree with the suggestion of darkening the white spots in the background or even a dark black background.   Posted: 10/22/2019 10:54:05
