About the Image(s)

"I chose this image because I liked the black and white image with the red door. I had wanted to try this technique, and this image seemed to be perfect. I try to chose something that I am wanting comments on. It is a cabin on the McDonald Spit in the Kenai peninsula, Alaska.
It was shot at f9, 1/80, 50mm. 200 ISO. I always try to "tell the story" of what I see."

Good job with the technique of having a single color. It might work well in sepia also? I can see this hanging on a wall in a cabin in Alaska!   Posted: 10/10/2019 03:55:38

I really like this. Nice technique, you may inspire me to try this. Good idea and follow thru.   Posted: 10/19/2019 13:46:11

Great image. You can't beat a red door. I'm thinking it is a little grey and it would maybe look better with more contast. Darker blacks and a greater tonal range.   Posted: 10/20/2019 01:41:17

Good choice, Deborah, to make your work black & white. It brings out the wood grain and of course, the red door is eye-catching! Increasing the tones a little, would, positively affect your creative work!   Posted: 10/21/2019 18:41:59

Hi Debbie-

Nice composition with the red door. Need some more contrast. Deeper blacks.   Posted: 10/22/2019 08:39:26

I like how it turned out and agree that making the grey to show more texture would have more impact. I would also try experimenting with other colors for the door and suggest a bright turquoise as an alternate. In New Mexico, I have seen adobe houses with bright turquoise doors.   Posted: 10/22/2019 10:46:36
