View from the Lighthouse by Kathy Brand

August 2019 - View from the Lighthouse

About the Image(s)

The Tall Ships were in Kenosha this past weekend. The lighthouse which is now privately owned allowed people to go up four flights of steps/ladders to go to the top. So I did and I was the only one there for quite awhile and took many photos. However, I wish I had a polarizing filter with me to eliminate reflections. Tech Info: 1/1250 at f/8.0, ISO 640. In LR, I adjusted the white and black clipping points, increased clarity, cropped it slightly, and removed many bug spots from the window.

I think the sailboat gives the viewer a feel for the lighthouse lookout. Great image   Posted: 08/08/2019 12:39:15

Perspective is well shown. It is a shame you still have reflections on the right which are a bit distracting. Maybe some cloning might help especially with the reflections of lines.   Posted: 08/18/2019 18:19:36

Nice creative picture. I love the detail in the foreground with the framing of the sailing in the background. Nice horizonal straight line. Hard to get with a wide angle. Great job!   Posted: 08/19/2019 19:55:39

The ship, with out it I am not sure it would move me, and the detail makes this. The reflections are a it distracting, yet they make me feel like I am there. Nice   Posted: 08/25/2019 10:42:37
