About the Image(s)
The Chicago Botanic Garden has an annual orchid show with orchids from different parts of the world. They reserve a particular time for photographers to bring their tripods and equipment.
I normally go the show every year and went a few days ago to photograph all those beautiful flowers.

These orchids are beautiful. I would like to see the center one toned down a bit. The white in that flower looks a bit too hot. Good composition.   Posted: 03/04/2023 21:31:18
I like the composition of stem coming in from the left and the 3 open flowers and the closed one hanging there. The background is soft and unobtrusive. The colours seem soft and natural, though a tiny bit of selected saturation may help the image pop. The image is soft overall. I think a little longer DoF would have assisted the bottom flower.   Posted: 03/08/2023 11:35:49
Orchid blooms can be quite a challenge to photograph ,they usually need a large depth of field as there are flowers further back, that if too soft distract. The flowers stand out well against the dark background, and the principal one is slightly over lit. I would be inclined to crop the image half way up and concentrate on the top two flowers.   Posted: 03/13/2023 04:22:21
Excellent subject and some good comments about the depth of field. The middle flower is definitely over exposed a little bit. This is a tough one to crop because you would be slicing other flowers.   Posted: 03/14/2023 16:56:20
I love the bud and the composition.
Not sure how to tone down that bright spot that others are referencing.
Such a fun photographic adventure. The orchids really pop against the dark background.
