Like the symmetry of this image, and it is helped by the positioning of the boat creating the line of symmetry though to the support of the distant bridge. I would have been inclined to crop both sides slightly to the edge of the nearest buildings as the light areas of them particularly on the left draw the eye from the main bridge scene.   Posted: 04/10/2021 05:51:16

The colors are appealing and warm.
My first thought was to crop this into a portrait. My eye had trouble focusing on the great action in the middle. If symmetry is the goal, then the amount of left hand sunlight reflection is unbalancing to me.
This looks like a place I want to go once life gets back to traveling again. Thanks for taking me someplace outside of my house.   Posted: 04/11/2021 10:38:37

The question is: what is the main subject? From your description I gather that it is the "sporting activity". In that case I would concentrate on that and have the bridge, however attractive, just serve as a backdrop. That would mean cropping the image on both sides, but in such a way that the boat is not centered.   Posted: 04/12/2021 14:21:18

This feels like two images - the bridge and it's reflection in the water, and then the kayak. I also don't care for the subject to be centered. The bridge is very attractive in its own right. Since the dark buildings on the right are not really adding to the photo, I would crop from the right, and try to get the boat on the third. Here is an example.   Posted: 04/12/2021 17:11:10
